ROSY HEAD
BIOGRAPHY
Rosy Head is Chair of History & Theory at the Architectural Association in London. She is an interdisciplinary theorist and thought partner, whose research sits at the intersection of art, science, politics, and philosophy. Current work focusses on planetary thinking and the geopolitics of nature, interdisciplinary and cross-intelligence translation, and the strategic role of arts and culture in strong societies and political democracy.
She founded AUZINC.studio specifically to work on projects that bring interdisciplinary knowledge and plural intelligence into different contexts to confront conventional thinking; to move research into action, and create new ideas and cultural artefacts that help reframe our worldview.
In parallel to her work within academia, she has extensive experience as a thought partner working between creative concepts and strategy, and has led major projects for a range of clients, across cultural organisations, brands, institutions, for-profits and charities; working closely with artists, designers, scientists, philosophers, policymakers and business leaders.
Previous to the AA, she was Senior Tutor at the Royal College Art, head of the final year of the Masters in Architecture, where she also ran a Critical Thinking and Speculative Futures studio. She has held diverse positions, including: Head of Strategy at The Face Magazine, Guest Editor of Picpus Magazine, and Curriculum Design Consultant at the London Interdisciplinary School.
